Fortress Reports Svetloye Mobilization via Winter Road Completed
Wed Apr 22, 12:25 PM

ca.news.finance.yahoo.com

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 22, 2009) - Fortress Minerals Corp. ("Fortress") (TSX VENTURE: FST.V) is pleased to announce that mobilization has been completed to its Svetloye gold project in Eastern Russia in preparation for the 2009 program. A total of 1,100 tonnes of fuel and supplies were shipped via the 310-kilometre-long winter road. Mobilization was completed on time and under budget.

The 2009 program is planned to commence on May 1st, and will consist of 8,000 metres of diamond drilling and 1,500 metres of trenching. Initial work will be concentrated on the Amy deposit where drill results from late 2008 intersected thick intervals of continuous gold mineralization, see December 8th, 2008 Press Release. The Amy mineralization is open to the east, south and west.

The Svetloye Project consists of nine prospects that occur over a linear distance of 8 kilometers. Gold is associated with extensive zones of vuggy silica, quartz-alunite and quartz-dickite-kaolinite alteration. This style of mineralization is common to Pierina, Veladero and other high sulphidation epithermal deposits. Fortress currently owns a 100% interest in the Svetloye Project.
