Ok... you were a bit vague in that bit.

Boondoggles abound, I agree, and many of them will backfire anyway. It's Man's way.

I'm for something that coincidentally reduces carbon emissions, not necessarily for the reduction of carbon, but because an energy shock will radically alter our way of life, and I don't like the sound of that. If we don't use the cheap energy now to create the plentiful energy of the future, we're kind of screwed, I think.

And what we do use, we must use more efficiently. That in turn frees up capacity (hopefully...) to produce e.g. solar panels and wind mills.
