A couple of MMs had advised me in September that October was to
be a down month for various reasons (historical, and tax).
They had already unloaded all their positions in September.
I did not sell any then because I was in for the long term.

Nevertheless, I really cannot resist this amazing short term
buying opportunity. Assuming that this dip is temporary,
there is quite a few bargains in the market.
ORCL, SUNW, INTC, CSCO, all companies that have been growing
consistently at a rate of over 30% a year, all off significantly
from their highs.

I am tempted to put everything into ORCL as I think it is
the safest bet. For a short term play, there is a extremely good
chance of ORCL going back up to its previous high of 42 this December
when it releases its Q2.
The market should stabilize by then and ORCL simply has to hit its
earnings estimate.

That's a possible 30% gain in 6 weeks.
SUNW and INTC will be a longer term play because their quarterly
results came out not long ago.

Opinions?
