Your new property (think you said you were going to put in a bid) sounds absolutely spectacular!! How goes that project?

Hi Karen,

It got exciting yesterday. Realtor brought back a signed contract accepting our offer. Closing is 28 May.

My Karen pored over our log cabin books yesterday. We went out last night and picked out new sets of cabinets in Alderwood and Hickory. One for kitchen, one for baths.

Plan to visit granite and flooring stores today. She wants blue granite tops, wood and stone floors and no carpet.
Appliance store after that. I suggested considering an AGA stove. Paint color books are on the kitchen table.
I leave all those decisions up to her. I only go along to make sure we get builder's discounts and to pick up spec sheets so I know what to remodel for.

I suggested a river rock facade on fireplace. stacked stone entry and new entry door. Also tongue and groove pine or cedar on vaulted ceiling or at least on one long wall.
Deck is huge, Will roof part and close in a screen porch.

Perhaps most interesting on the interior is the living room, den, dining room and kitchen eating nook and kitchen are all one big room with 18' vaulted ceiling and no walls, except for a partial partition wall at one end of the kitchen to hold wall cabinets....I guess the space is about 1200-1400 SF. The kitchen is a horseshoe shape and smack in the middle. The screen porch will be an addition to that space.

I walked the entire incredible property and identified all the trees. Found a nearby county maintained hiking trail to the lake called Osprey Trail. More later.
