Good points. And I was paying attention to those non-mainstream writers and thinkers (including many here at SI). I pay zero attention to mainstream financial information at the moment. That has been my story for the past several years.

Hopefully some alternative media will emerge that captures the power of the Internet (to get around cable etc.) to make something highly successful which is NOT owned and edited by large corporate interests.

It comes down to the same thing as before -- people gotta do some work on their own, hunting around, looking for better information and opinions which make them think about what they are doing. If a person capitulates to what a megacorp tells them to think, they are forever doomed to be a milked cow.
