TO ALL--Contract announcement: Shaw is expanding a 5 year contract with a major N. American chemical company...total of contact exceeds $100mil. It originally stood at $15, and has increased to $112mil. On May 29, 1997, Shaw announced that it entered into a five year pipe bending and fabrication services agreement with a major N. American chemical company. Since entering into this agreement, SGR has been fabricating small bore pipe spools utilizing cold pipe bending technology at its existing facilities. The amended contract stipulates that SGR will also provide fabrication and heat induction bending services for large bore pipe spools. SGR is in the process of opening a facility in the Gulf Coast region specifically designed to meet the terms of this contract and to execute other projects in the TX Gulf Coast region. Bernhard's comments: "the expansion of this contract is evidence of continued strong demand in the domestic markets we serve, as well as the competitive advantage realized when utilizing advanced pipe bending technology in the fabrication process." -------looks like good news!
