I am advancing stagflation as the most likely outcome because all logic and evidence points me in that direction. The USA is a fatcat at a Casino -- and the fatcat just ran out of chips to play and nobody wants to lend us any more money to play with. No chips to play means no more royal suite and limo service -- no more free ride. The dollar price of everything you own that is not traded on international markets will go down -- the dollar price of everything you buy on international markets will go up. Stagflation. Expanded regions of poverty. There will be Americans who do just fine in this brave new world -- but they will be in the minority and that minority will shrink along with our relative educational decline -- relative to our trading partners. The future is not so much dire as it is sad -- very sad.
