In many cases the best defense is a good offense as the sayng goes. The US has a special responsibility as the only superpower... I agree that naiton building shoud be avoided except in unusua; circumstances.

You want to help the people of Iraq, but not the people in our own country?

This is a false dichotmy. We spend plenty in this country to help the unfortunate members of our society.
