JFShepard, > The Bible rewriters very often have an objective in mind and it isn't to make it easier to read......maybe to make it easier to believe ....

There are many modern English translations of the Bible available. Some were written to make it easier to read. Some were written to try and stay close to the original text. My favorite is the NIV because I prefer the latter, but some of my pastors have been quoting from a translation called The Message because they like the tone it conveys.

As for making it easier to believe, that's never been a secret. Even the gospel of John says, "Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."

Most parts I do. What don't you understand about it?
