That may be your perspective.

Mine is from personal observation of many hundreds of teachers in many different schools for 14+ years. It was the same everywhere without exception. At the end of their 6 or so hour "work" day it was always a mad rush to the parking lot. Unfortunately, almost every teacher would be empty handed. Considering I would be on site from several days to several weeks, it's doubtful I caught them on the rare occasion they didn't take "work" home. It became easy to identify the scant few who did from those who were empty handed.

And I have yet to have this conversation with a teacher who didn't insist they did a lot of "work" at home. Most are down right militant about it. The thing is their protests were at odds with observable facts.

Everyone believes they work very hard. Another observation of mine is that those who protest loudest about it often can't substantiate it simply because it isn't so.

BTW, my wife & sister were both teachers too. They hate my opinion of teachers as a whole. But they both grudgingly agree I am completely right on every point.

I don't doubt that many teachers do some work at home from time to time, or that there are a select few who do considerably more. IMO, those who do are simply the exception, not the rule.
