What the media and also many citizens don't seem to understand is the difference between Legal, Illegal and Refugee immigrants.
I'm all for Legal immigrants....They have chosen America, they believe in laws and wait their turn to come in. Most of this group wants to learn English and does, they bring with them education, and a desire to live in a land that offers freedom and opportunity. I cheer every one of these people, and have helped some of them learn English, and also provide small pocket copies of the US Constitution.
Refugees...we citizens have not much say on who comes in on Refugee status...the President signs Executive Orders for each person and/or each group. They immediately qualify for all the welfare items we as a society have to offer. Personally, I wish we knew more about this group....how have they contributed to our society, and what their thoughts are about America.
Illegal immigrants have right "off the bat" broken our laws to be here. When someone starts out that way, who thinks their behavior over time will be any different? We are entirely too PC IMO, because we don't see how many of what ethnic group has accomplished what....and how many of each group is in jail, or has broken other laws of America.
When one just considers the financial cost alone of from 12-20 Million or more ILLEGAL immigrants, from our medical care, our educational system, and in all other areas, it certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why ILLEGAL immigration is a bad idea for the receiving country.
We should send them back to their homeland, and they can apply to come in just as the legal immigrants have done. |
