Don, think of the social misfits you've encountered on the internet who desperately troll for the basic attention that most of us get as a by-product of productive activities and healthy relationships. The misfit-troll often employs a "cause", but it appears to be secondary to acquiring attention, based on the frequent silly, meaningless postings of temperatures, polls, etc. As long as the postings get responses, they will continue, no matter how foolish they are.

It's not really helping your cause or surprising any of us.
