A democracy unconstrained by a viable and enforced constitution is simply mob rule. "My gang has more votes than your gang, so what we say, goes".

Mob rule is what the United States has been evolving towards over the years, as our constitution has been systematically eviscerated by both the left and the right. To call our current system of government a "constitutional republic", the system upon which the country was founded, is no longer valid.

Socialism is de jure government ownership of a country's economy. Fascism pays lip service to private enterprise but maintains de facto control over most all aspects of a country's economy.

That's also what the United States has been evolving towards over the years. It's also a trend that is rapidly accelerating..
