It is not in dispute, that I am aware of, that petroleum is in finite supply.

When we finish burning it all up, it is gone.

All the internal combustion vehicles are paper weights. Planes, trains, ships, cars, lawn mowers...all of 'em...finito.

Are you really arguing that it is not wise to attempt to slow the rate of consumption of petroleum products?

You think it is, um, unAmerican to try and, pressure folks to reduce their reliance on oil and use the disincentives to facilitate at least a partial transition to renewable energy sources?

I suppose that explains why those creatures who reasoned as you did in the past are now sold in quarts, gallons and barrels...at least for a little while longer...
