I see your point about the prices but its the White House dude. When was the last time a President visited a used budget computer parts store to get a deal or a part for a key board. They don't call a handiman for the White House, they replace stuff and they don't replace it with budget deals.

It would be great if they did. I've always thought it would be a nice gesture for the Pope go to Salvation Army for his wardrobe and auction his robes and jeweled trinkets for cash to give to the poor and needy. If the Pres did something cool, even if it was just a gesture, I'd like it. I like seeing Michelle do the soup kitchen thing.

I believe the 'initial reports' were exaggerated by one side and discounted by the other. Business as usual ehh. But the facts of the GAO report seem fair.
