If you could buy a new body (just move your brain over, I suppose) you'd have a valid metaphor, but that's not the case.

The problem with health insurance is the idiots who demand that $500,000 be spent torturing mom or dad for those couple of extra weeks.

People don't do that for their cars, they buy a new one - but you can't buy a new mom or dad.

The economic demand for car insurance has a rational basis, the nature of the demand for health insurance is not.

That's why single payer for health insurance is not the same as single payer for car insurance.
