Summary
Working gas in storage was 1,823 Bcf as of Friday, April 24, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 82 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 464 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 335 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,488 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 18 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 42 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 228 Bcf above the 5-year average of 577 Bcf after a net injection of 26 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 89 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 14 Bcf. At 1,823 Bcf, total working gas is within the 5-year historical range.
