I thought the lesson of 1987 was that when markets get really high, it is possible for short term traders to make a lot of money by shorting them. The other lesson was that the day traders can get totally creamed in just one or two days. Another lesson was that if you sell before the blood is in the streets, you can buy back more shares later. -- Carl
