his election is something for all US citizens to be proud of.

There are more than a few who would not agree with you. In northern Idaho, the Aryan Nation, after a decade of quiet, are regrouping. On business boards, I see references to Obama, the monkey, references to his Muslim connections, and stuff like this:



It was one of many racist displays at the teabag parties. Has this country made progress....sure. But this is not the time to feel too much pride.....not with posters like the one above in public display.
