Well not really, it 10s of other things these people do that may extend their life, but we are not talking science here

We know that heart disease is caused by a combination of things. And we are a long way from being able to pinpoint the cause. That is why Dr Davis recommends, and I push, a "shotgun" approach.

The goal is to stop the growth of CAD, and to reduce inflammation. The most important things that will help this are weight reduction and excercise.

Next, we know that statins work, but are overused. They help reduce LDL, but have no influence on HDL or Triglicerides. We know that Omega 3 from Fish oil, Niacin, and Vitamin D-3 are the three most important supplements for increasing HDL plus reducing LDL and Triglicerides.

Then, adding K2, reducing your TSH with Armour or synthroid, DHEA, oat bran, flax seed all help. Beyond this, whatever fits your fancy.

While doing this, and trying to figure out what works, we are hammered by the Health Food types who have a million products we are supposed to use. OTOH, Your Doctor typically tells you "lose weight, take this statin and call 911 if you have chest pain." The specialists don't want to be bothered unless you need a procedure. Which is what you are trying to avoid.

Most doctors don't want to get involved in the extensive CAD prevention measures we use. Or the type of diet needed. The reason? "Too labor intensive." [Not enough "buck" for the "bang" involved.]
