You want to blame the Bush Administration when federal funding under prior administrations was allocated to solve the problem, yet local officials chose to divert those funds to other matters?

You want to blame the Bush Administration when refugees who tried to escape by walking over the Connection were turned back at gunpoint by local Gretna police?

You want to blame the federal government because there was not one viable freeway that would take you into the city where the people were from any direction to deliver supplies?

You want to blame Bush because Nagin didn't have the good sense to use the available buses to get people out of the area, despite warnings from every knowledgeable person on the subject?

That's what you don't get........most of the nation blamed Bush for what happened in NOLA. You can try to spin this in a way that exonerates Bush but it ain't going to work. In fact, it was the beginning of the end for Bush and his form of Republicanism.
