I used to take that green powder stuff. ...Might be a good idea to revisit it.
I would, fantastic overall supplement imo. Just because of my situation I am more familiar with products that are available through doctors offices, they are just the ones I know. I also think they can be trusted. There is tons of info on making shakes on the web. I have sometimes taken PaleoReds or PaleoGreens for ex, there are other brands as well. Sometimes I’ll mix the two together, quite a bit sweeter than the pro greens I mentioned yesterday (although I see they have new formulations out that I’ve not currently tasted.) A very good widely available one is called Greens Plus or Greens+. Pretty sure this item and/or similar have been mentioned previously on the thread.
These kinds of supplements are very efficient at delivering considerable nutritional benefits in a small form factor, their contents varies from drying and powderizing whole foods, to in some cases adding in isolated ingredients. I believe that there is an art to the blend. Purists may point out that these foods are no longer "alive" or living. I have found them to work well. There can be somewhat of a magic bullet notion with these things, they are supplements, not replacements for a healthy diet. To eat the amount of food every morning represented by a scoop of powder would be impractical, so it’s basically a delivery system for concentrated phytonutrients. Much food, even organic, not to mention our bodies, including the environment, is compromised in some way and it’s thought that these supplements, provides some counter to that condition. The focus here is not so much on curing something immediate, but rather that long term consumption is restorative ie about optimizing the underlying conditions, or prevention. Should work well for everybody. Combined with protein in a shake, makes for great ignition, as in enabling one to break fast, in a beneficial, supported way.
