I believe our FOUNDERS believed the Constitution should be a "malleable" instrument.

That is why they allowed for Amendments to the Constitution. Prior to the twentieth century it was customary to restrain changes in the meaning of the Constitution to the Amendment process. We can only hope that this lesson is not lost on a majority of the Justices. Right now four seem to, and I'll bet that none are on your list of favorites.
