Yes, I had to learn more about big cap finance than I ever wanted to know since my main interest is small caps and international stocks.

The striking thing about the economic arguments is how prescriptive most analysts are; reading the data is just a means to push their magic prescription whether it's more government or less, more spending or less, more regulation or less, etc.

A huge disconnect is growing between these grandiose high-level theoretical teachings and the daily grind for the average citizen. That's where Obama could stake out a huge and possibly lasting governing consensus, showing people their government can work to help them on the issues that matter most.

The theorists would largely be left on the side of the road if he succeeds. It will be interesting to watch.
