Yes.

but I don't think it comes anywhere close to how secure people felt before we ever went in there.

I'm not so sure about that. The security situation was very different in that past, but different isn't necessarily better. A tyrannical and oppressive government leaves its citizens, esp. those in unfavored groups, rather insecure.
