Shipping ground to almost a halt. Not because the cost of the letters of credit, it was because shippers refused to accept them. At least, that is what they said.

Ground to a halt or slowed, I don't know. And I don't know who "they" are.

But the bottom line is it was very much temporary situation.

I would say that in the height of the crisis had I won a billion in the powerball, I probably would not have been comfortable taking a cashier's check drawn on some big bank, either.

Until things settled out and banks could prove they're good for the money, I don't blame anyone for using an abundance of caution.
