The association of car brands and types with people varies by the area of the US. Here in Northern California, there is a pretty wide range of people who buy Lexus cars. Same with Mercedes.

For certain car models, the specificy of the people that buy it is very strong.

I learned that at least on the West Coast, Chevy Camaros are a frequency choice for people who are on probation... that is not so bad in the rest of the US.

Ford Mustang drivers seem to be more law abiding, or at least have not been caught yet, and they have fewer visible tatoos.

Jeep drivers still tend to wave at each other.

I don't know enough Mini drivers to really comment, but it looks like a young demographic around here.
