I don't understand how GPS locating works, but this is scary. I had a census worker knock on my door yesterday. She was carrying a little electronic device and when I asked her why she was here she said it was to verify my address. I asked her what she was typing into the device and she said just my address. I asked her if she typed in any other information and she said no.

I'm suspicious because she said even if I wasn't home all she had to do was look at the address numbers I have posted on my house to verify it is the right address.

So if that's true, why did she knock on my door?

Maybe just to let me know a stranger was trespassing?

Does a marker need to be physically applied to my house or is my house being GPS located merely by typing my address into a little hand held device?

I live in Wa state.
