I don't know how you would know you needed a procedure unless you first saw a cardiologist.

Because you had a chest pain that was not gas. Without a symptom, your GP and what you know can handle everything you need. Remember, the Cardio has a "hammer" and is looking for a "nail." You want to stay out of his Cath lab.
