Here's a painting of Chief Charlo, who represented the Salish People when they were relocated to their present reservation, as a result of the Hellgate Treaty of 1855. I drove through a town named after him two weeks ago.

Notice how regal he looks. The painting was made from a photograph, and there is no embellishment to make him look better than he was.
