The Soros foundations in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union were always an attempt to move those countries toward more open societies. There is no need to insult the man just because his methods are different from the "nuke the commies" attitude taken by the conservative movement in the U.S. Soros is a successful capitalist and has a vested interest in promoting free enterprise in that part of the world. As a capitalist, he doesn't "attack" currencies, he merely observes disparities in market values and takes positions that allow him to profit from them. Don't we all simply try to "buy low, sell high"? Why revile a man for being successful?
