Maybe we can help to speed up chipset atomic clock design and production for symm. So, Tom can stay on, otherwise had to recruit a NST scientist.

Its done on silicon wafer(1 mm thick) with two ends using Pyrex glass. The difference in thermal expansion coefficient requires annealing. So the annealing tool and fixtures had to be letter patented. The next most important item to have letter patent is the weight of the rubidium by precise weight control method and its buffering gases.

Once material handling equipment is worked out, the production can be highly mechanized. The production equipment is therefore the major investment.

Chipset might imply that laser and detector, thermal heating and cooling are also on the silicon wafer cut into chips.
