My guess about China is they have plans for coordinating all sorts of clean technology to produce the montser amounts of power they will need. There are many novel power sources countries could build if they had the will. China has centralized planning, cash and labor. And 5 times as many engineer's as we. Wind, solar, tidal action, Wave action, current action, ocean heat transference (they use this in Israel), and who knows maybe fusion. One of the major things the right wing cannot wrap their mind around is that often only ogvernment can coordinate truely large projects properly e.g. WWII, Ike and the interstate highway system, marshal plan, etc. Obama understands this and plans to get government involved in solving our power needs in a planned and coordinated manner.
