Would you, even for a microsecond, acknowledge that many, many liberals wanted Bush to fail from Day One?
First, that wasn't the point. We never whined about the media or some outside source as an excuse for our political failure. All you guys have is excuses; the media, whatever. Frankly, you failed. Bad war, bad domestic policy. Obama (and the rest of us) inherited an economy going into shutdown, a nightmare. The worst I've seen in my lifetime. You can't deny that.
I certainly didn't want Bush to fail from "day 1"; hell I wasn't paying much attention. After 9/11 politics got serious, they started making a huge difference. The Dems and Reps both supported Bush almost 100%; not me. I was against the Iraq war, when most Dems supported it, from the first time it dawned on me that Bush actually was going to do it.
Did I want Bush to fail? No. I love this country.
Did "many, many liberals" want Bush to fail? I'll take a guess; if you mean the ultra liberals, maybe 10% of the population, then yes.
But all reasonable people (defined as 80% of the population both Dem and Rep) wanted Bush to succeed and want Obama to succeed. We are in one fuk of a bad situation... and so far Obama and his people have done a pretty good job of getting us out. You can scream and yell and yes whine about what he's doing... but he is making noises that sound conservative coming out of this. Time will tell but right now he has saved our ass.
I never said a political word on these threads until Bush was threatening a war with Iraq... in fact supported him. I rallied for the cut in taxes on dividends, and posted a link so people could support the measure.
The world isn't fixed... as things change you have to change with them. Even you. I've changed my views a lot in the last 8 years, and imagine I will change them a lot in the next 8 years.
