DVD has a point as he say, the US arrived at what it arrived by set of circumstances and not by planning to achieve it as a goal.

It was dismemberment of old Euro empires that handled to the US the nr. 1 position on a tray. If you have power you use it. US used it.

Now that very set of circumstances that gave US numero uno position have changed and US returns -irreversibly- to its natural size.

And there is nothing it can do about it since there are a myriad of new circumstances, each one of them very tiny, on which the US has no control, which move the events towards that return to natural size.

Thing that molecule of air. When we see a balloon, it is a bunch of single air molecules pushing it outwards. When the B747 flies it is a bunch of single molecules of air pushing upwards...

Taking it as a piece is like nothing, putting them in a set of circumstances, the plane flies.
