There are two quiet periods. One where the investment bank(s) that took them public can't write research for 30 days. This occurs only around the time of a stock offering. The second quiet period refers to all companies as they near the end of a quarter. Most companies have a policy of not relaying info from 2 weeks before the end of the quarter until they announce results. If there is material new info, they may put out a press release but certainly nothing regarding near-term results.

Regarding sales to the Far East, BXH does very little business there. Though they will probably go there in the future, they have plenty of opportunity right here in the US. Much more important is how they compete in the NT/fibre channel market in 1998.
