david, please specify what you mean when you say "cost" mu sold about 100 million units last q at $6.50. they earned about $50 million in their semi sales. in other words, they earned, net, $0.65 per ic sold. that means their net cost was near $6. this is very rough as there are many factors, but $4.50 is absurd as a net cost. companies go bankrupt even when their gross cost is below their asp - YOU MUST ADD IN OVERHEAD. btw, i think everyone is losing money. the question now is, how much money can the various companies lose and stay in the game. mu is very near the bottom of that list. great process manufacturers. immoral hypesters, imho. extremely bad industry and getting worse. ridiculous valuation at current levels. bad market environment. EXTREMELY BAD NEWS DUE NEXT MONTH FOR THE BIG BOYS AND IN DECEMBER FOR THE SUCKERS. go long and you risk a lot. btw, when you don't respond to the cogent points i make i feel good as it is easier to ignore reality than address it with facts. ;-) however, you are making progress ;-)
