Sunday talk show tip sheet
TAGS: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Asif Ali Zardari, Hamid Karzai, Dick Cheney, David Petraeus
By ANDY BARR | 5/9/09 6:46 AM EDT

Former Vice President Dick Cheney, Army Gen. David Petraeus and the presidents of Afghanistan and Pakistan headline a heavy day of national security intrigue on this Sunday's talk shows.

After just warning Republicans in a radio interview that it would be a mistake for them to moderate their views, Cheney sits down with Bob Schieffer for what's sure to be a newsy chat on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Petraeus, the former top U.S. commander in Iraq who now directs the U.S. Central Command, is on both CNN's "State of the Union" and "Fox News Sunday."

Additionally, Fox host Chris Wallace interviews former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.). And CNN's John King talks with Sens. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and Bob Casey (D-Pa.).

NBC's "Meet the Press" has Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari following their meeting Wednesday with President Barack Obama.

On ABC, National Security Adviser Jim Jones and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) headline "This Week."
