Newt called out Pelosi's dishonesty and laughed at Colin Powell's claim that Americans wanted more taxes: "Colin Powell is wrong. The average American does not want to pay higher taxes. And, in fact, at a time severe recession raising taxes during is destructive to economic growth." This was a classic Newt interview: Needless to say the Far Left was a bit upset with Newt's interview. Gingrich, a recent convert to Catholicism, also criticized Notre Dame for inviting the most radical pro-abortion and infanticide president in history to speak at Commencement this week.
