The U.S. is the greatest country on the planet and hopefully will be for some time for one simple reason the U.S. constitution guarantees that a person can exist to pursue their own goals and aims, i.e. happiness.

They have freedom for and from religion and once upon a time the only entitlement you got was the one you earned.

Once upon a time they were a nation of rights now they are a nation of laws.

All nations rise and fall and as the wise Ayn Rand said:

"Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals -- that it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government -- that it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."
