For a comparison, here's the CNN transcript of Bush's first WH correspondents' dinner in 2001:

All Bush's jokes are about himself and his own family. Not one about Clinton or Gore. Not one snide remark about needing to fumigate the Oval Office or supporting Al Gore in his efforts to save the planet. Nothing to match Obama's remark that Dick Cheney's memoirs are tentatively titled "How to Shoot Friends and Interrogate People."

GW Bush has class. Obama doesn't. Obama has cool instead. Cool thrives on mean - you're doubly cool when you can get away with mean things that nobody else could get away with.
