The big advantages of dumping stock on the suckers is both raising equity and that coming losses are distributed across more shares.

I'm all for it. I want the banks to be selling stock like mad here. Better the suckers put their money in than the government put more taxpayer dollars in.

One thing it definitely means is that it's even more unlikely that bank stocks are going back to old highs in our lifetime.
