TORONTO, ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1997--Warp 10
Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: WARPF; CDN: WARP) System Accelerator
compression software is garnering accolades from publishers, graphic
design studios, entertainment companies and prepress facilities
around the country. System Accelerator is an end- to-end solution
for "visually lossless" compression of CYMK, greyscale and RGB image
files by up to 90%. It also boosts network workflow productivity by
two to three times while reducing archiving and retrieval times as
much as one tenth.
"We at Warner Bros. Consumer Products Creative Services find the
Warp 10 System Accelerator to be a consistent asset to our
productivity," says Kim Rice-Bogdan, Computer Manager at Warner
Bros. "In addition to reducing archiving time and storage space
dramatically, it helps facilitate our preparation of files going to
our licensee, vendors, and internal agents."
According to Paul Foley, CEO of Image Axis, a New York City
pre-press facility with an estimated $10 million in annual revenues:
"System Accelerator has easily doubled productivity. There are
obvious savings in labor costs due to the increased speed of
archiving, retrieving, storing, and printing images. It allows the
work to flow more naturally. It is fair to say that System
Accelerator will also aid our ability to take on more clients and
work because of the time and space savings -- actually increasing our
overall revenues."
"We are gratified to see the overwhelming acceptance that System
Accelerator is enjoying by a broad range of users who appreciate its
many benefits," said Warp 10 CEO Marvin Igelman. "With this
remarkable product we are helping companies be more productive,
profitable and creative. That's why companies throughout the U.S.,
Canada and Japan are ecstatic about System Accelerator."
"Warp 10's System Accelerator is a better investment than an
upgraded network. We estimate that by using Warp 10's System
Accelerator we have increased our transmission and processing times
by as much as 50 percent," says Jim Medley, Director of Automated
Publishing at Southam Inc., the largest publisher in Canada with a
roster of over 30 newspapers, magazines, and information products.
"I can honestly say that System Accelerator has increased
productivity between 60 - 70 % and deferred new equipment costs for
at least 2-3 years. The cost for this software solution is well
within the means. I would strongly recommend it," said Duane
Harrell, Electronics Manager, Quad Graphics, off-set printers in
Atlanta with projected annual revenues in excess of $900 million.
"I began "Warping" files for my Creative Director, and she loved
it right away. No more missing her train waiting for large files to
print! Warped files preview very accurately, process in less than a
minute, fly through the RIP and print out with no loss of image
quality. Once "Warped," Photoshop files even open faster than
native files. Buying System Accelerator was a natural decision. It
boosts productivity, keeps us from outgrowing our servers and
addresses the most common and pervasive desktop printing problems.
It's one of the best graphic arts business solutions I've seen,"
says Tracey Lawrence, Production Manager for Route 66, an apparel
marketing and private label for Kmart.
Warp 10 builds tools that enable an open distributed trading
environment for digital media assets. Such tools partnered with
other vendor technologies allows media asset holders to maximize
creative and financial gain.
