I've done some "fun" things while gathering family history. One of the most interesting and rewarding projects was to take the 30 years of letters from one set of parents, put them in crono order and then printed each of them on a standard size (8 1/2x11) paper. Also made 12 sheets of collaged pictures of what we (and they) were doing over the years while the folks wrote their letters to us.

The letters and envelopes told us more than we realized. Where we and they were when the letter was written, the date, the addresses, current events and family events, plus our own thoughts and feelings came forward.

There were enough pages for a two volume set of books and pictures, so printed a set for each of our children.

There were tears in all eyes that Christmas. They thought they remembered their Grandparents, and of course, thought they knew both of us, and after reading those letters, realized there was much "more to the story."
