Shalom, Hello, I see you have been busy about your Fathers business. Good posts. Here is something I am interested in. I also sent this to John for his comments. I would like to here your ideas on the matter. I know there are other interpretations.
The real Jew, to me, is not the person in the flesh, but the person who who has received the Holy Spirit and is a descendent of Abraham by faith thru Jesus Christ. This, to me, is also the true Israel of God.
Scriptures:
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.
Gal 3:6 Even so Abraham BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Gal 3:7 Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.
Gal 3:14 in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Gal 3:16 Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "And to your seed," that is, Christ.
Gal 6:15 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Gal 6:16 And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.
Rom 7:4 Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, that we might bear fruit for God.
