All true I suppose. We both live in post colonial parliamentary democracies that have proven less than perfect. One thing that is glaringly apparent is the way Canada has destroyed generations of our indigenous people by rights and entitlements. At first we just stole their language and children to put them in residential schools but now we have up to ten generations who have never held a job. Here in the States the Indians never got the same entitlements and most of them hold jobs and have some sort of existence independent from the state authority.
