Ted, > Has it been moral turpitude or economic necessity, requiring both parents to work, that's caused youngsters to be set adrift?

Both. The love of money and the economic benefits of having both parents work help to drive up living standards and thus the cost of even keeping up with the Joneses. But with the benefits come the drawbacks, and we're quickly becoming a society that neglects its children as we pursue material success.

The pastor who married my wife and I recognized that drive within us. He said it best, "It's never enough."

> And if its the latter....definitely the more likely choice.........what impact has the Rs deficit spending over the last 4 decades had on the income of the average American family?

It's had an impact for sure, but it's just one of many.

> BTW unless you consider dancing to music to be sinful, then liberalism has not had a negative impact on morals nor does it encourage immorality.

The patron saint for liberals who think the only sin is hypocrisy is Larry Flynt.
