"Didn't read it did you ... and then you wonder why everyone calls you an ignorant putz ... except me of course,"

"You just did."

No I didn't. I told you what others call you and I explained why this was another example that causes them to do that. I said, "But ignoring scholarly reports is bound to lead people to that conclusion."

Here is how that works:
1) You are provided with information.
2) You ignore the information.
3) You make a comment about the information that exposes you as being uninformed. Being uninformed is the natural consequence of ignoring information.
5) Such a comment based on your decision to ignore information is by definition ignorant.

Being told you are ignorant when that is in fact the situation is not name calling. I would do that but adding the word putz is unnecessary so I might leave it off for the sake of efficiency and good manners.

I don't remember ever calling you an ignorant putz but if I did, it was bad manners and I should apologize for that.

I did call you skeeter but it was just a kidding thing related to the mosquito discussion. I hope you didn't take offence over that. I can see how you would, if you thought it was a reference to that rumor about your anatomy but that wasn't it at all, so there is no need for you to get all wacked out about it.
