There are lots of stories of razor thin, fit people dying of heart attacks. Arterial health is a separate issue to physical condition often. Far too many people think they are one and the same. They ain't. What you eat is 75% of how your arteries feel. Exercise is a good thing, but it will only get you part of the way there. I would say it is criminal and unhealthy to do NO exercise, but equally criminal to say "three squares" and exercise are ALL you can do. Stuff and nonsense which is really hard to get the lay public to see. It is equally hard to get them to see that putting themselves in the hands of doctors, taking magic pills and doing only mealy mough dash diet things for their lifestyle is going to change anything. I have had a running feud with Lindy Bill on chucking doctor's drugs and going native on the health issue. I stand by my assertions despite lindy's fears as I see whole primitive populations doing far better at advanced age in HD, just because of their diet ANd exercise regime is far superior to ours. Cretans, MAsai, Hunza, Okinawans etc.. they don't need Caduet. They don't need Lipitor. They just live to 85 walking 6 miles a day in the mountains and die with a smile. We don't.
Sure after the last put down of the "statistics" about using BP pills, Lindy is going to scream outrage, quack etc.. So how is he going to justify the lack of lipitor and caduet amongst millions of Cretans and Okinawans? eh? Don't make no sense, do it? So are the stats BS? I think so. They lack for one thing, signficant figures. They didn't tell us HOW much the people were better off on meds, or WHY... it was a puff piece. Analysis of meta data. Sure. So how come all those studies for 20 years did not tell us that at the time? eh? Because they did not indicate it, that is why. If you read the literature carefully, you will see just as many refutations of that articles assertions. (LB's post). So how did this change? When one group comes out and says, "BP meds do not prolong life. People who take BP meds don't live longer than people who do not." How does this reconcile with what the article says? Bears a closer look I would think. |
