What does that have to do with the notion that AMD should have been more successful had it not been for Intel's market power?

The reality of the world is that incumbents always enjoy inherent advantages. It's true for business, it's true in politics (e.g. gerrymandering), and it's even true in sports. Antitrust law tries to negate some of those advantages, but they still exist.

AMD is making excuses for their own failures, including their failure to simply give away one million CPUs.
